What to Bring

This section contains a list of ‘General Equipment’, ‘Personal Items’, ‘Items Provided For You’ and ‘What Not to Bring to Trek’.

GENERAL EQUIPMENT

  1. 1 sleeping bag or warm sleeping blanket
  2. 1 sleeping pad (roll-up, camping blanket)
  3. A water container will be provided for you, but if you want to bring a camelback for drinking, feel free.
  4. 1 lightweight Bath Towel
  5. 1 flashlight with fresh batteries
  6. 5 gallon bucket with lid which will carry everything but your sleeping bag. Your bucket and sleeping bag together will need to weigh less than 17 lbs. and will be weighed when you arrive. If your bucket is not within the weight restrictions, you will need to leave items behind, since cart space is very limited.
  7. Optional: scriptures/paperback Book of Mormon only (please bring copies that you won’t mind if lost or damaged) in plastic bag.

PERSONAL ITEMS

  1. Lip Balm (keep it in Your Pocket)
  2. Bug Repellant with DEET
  3. Sunscreen SPF 30
  4. Deodorant
  5. Comb /brush Toothpaste/Toothbrush
  6. Necessary Personal Prescription Medications
  7. Smallest amount of contact lens supplies possible (glasses should be brought for emergencies and may be more practical for Trek than contacts)
  8. Feminine Hygiene Supplies (women)
  9. Hair Elastics (women)

ITEMS PROVIDED FOR YOU

  • First aid kits, soap will be readily available throughout Trek.
  • Meals, snacks, and water will be provided.

DO NOT BRING

  • Electronic devices of any kind (cell phones, game players, music players)
  • Games, playing cards, or books
  • Pocketknife or other knifes, weapons, or anything that looks like a weapon
  • Food, candy, or drinks
  • Makeup
  • The historical committee will photograph and film the event. Cameras are optional, but may get damaged or lost, and are discouraged.
